"A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just." - Proverbs 13:22 Holy Bible
We are told in the Scriptures that a good man will leave an inheritance to his grand-children. How many of us could honestly do that today? Most of us feel we will be blessed if we have "something" to leave our children, let alone our grand-children.
Slowly, but surly, I am working towards this goal. Currently our income is moderate and we do not have much in the way of "wealth" but we are working to that end. I have plans... big plans but, like anything big, it takes time and money to see fruition.
I have ideas for purchasing land to be held in Trust for my children and their children. I am also collecting valuable coins, antique Bible leaves and soon actual antique Bibles which will hold their value and most likely, will go up in value.
I have also purchased some gold and silver which will be held towards the future. Gold and silver are good long term investments because they retain their value against inflation.
For example, I have my paternal grand-parents wedding rings. My grand-parents wanted me to have them. My wife and I had them resized and wear them as our wedding rings now. I have treasured them as a family heirloom and I plan on passing them down to my son to give to his son. There is no requirement to use them as I have but simply to keep them as part of a family tradition.

Currently I have 6 Bible Leaves from the 1400s and the 1600s, some gold and silver coins both official from the United States Treasury as well as some privately minted silver rounds. I also have an online portfolio account with KaratBars International where I regularly purchase pure silver from them. I recently purchased an authentic Knights Templar coin from the 1400s These are things I am purchasing and holding for my children so they will have an inheritance and some will go to my grand-children.

In addition to any physical items such as the Bible Leaves and coins of Silver and Gold... I will leave them the ability to know how to structure their lives so as to maximize their earning potential. I have learned some tactics which I will impart to them such as the proper use of an LLC, Trust, Insurance, Charitable Remainder Trust, Family Limited Partnerships, Family Foundations and more. All of these tools allow for a line of succession which the heirs can pass generational belongings on to their children and their children's children.
I have not "arrived" by any means but I am working towards a better future for my family and the generations which follow after me.
